Paying for treatment

Getting well shouldn't wait on the full amount.

Most people fund a stay with a mix of savings, a payment plan and their super. Here's every option, plainly, and what each one usually covers.

01

The prices, up front.

Indicative prices. Your written quote after assessment is the one that counts.

Live-inFrom $25,000+ GST · length set with you
Outpatient programFrom $15,000+ GST · three days a week for four weeks
Transition house$15,000incl. GST

Medical detox, prescription medicines and external specialist appointments are not included. We don’t offer refunds if you change your mind or leave early. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Full program details.

Ways to pay, and what to expect.

Most used

Payment plans

Spread the cost with a TLC payment plan, usually with a deposit up front and the rest over time. The repayment calculator shows what a week could cost.

Often possible

Early release of super

The ATO can release super on compassionate grounds to pay for treatment of an acute or chronic mental disorder, with reports from two registered doctors, one a specialist. How it works.

Available

Finance

Personal finance through a third-party lender, for people who'd rather pay one lender than a plan. We'll explain the terms before you sign anything.

Usually not

Private health insurance

Hospital cover usually pays for stays in a licensed private hospital, and Sapphire is a residential home, not a hospital. Some extras policies help with psychology sessions. Ask your fund what they'll cover.

Case by case

DVA

Veterans can get mental health treatment through DVA, often without needing a claim accepted first. Whether it covers a private residential stay depends on the case. We'll help you ask.

Usually not the stay

NDIS

The NDIS doesn't usually fund addiction treatment itself, which sits with the health system. For participants, it may fund related supports around a stay.

Case by case

WorkCover and CTP

If substance use or mental health problems are linked to an accepted work or road injury claim, the insurer may fund treatment. It needs their approval before admission.

Worth asking

Your employer

Some employers fund treatment or extra leave, often through an Employee Assistance Program. Discreet mode keeps every message from us neutral.

If cost rules it out

Public options

Queensland has free and low-cost public and community treatment. If Sapphire isn't affordable, we'll point you to the right one. Adis 24/7: 1800 177 833.

Queensland fines

Reduce SPER debt through treatment

If you owe fines to SPER, treatment and counselling can count towards a Work and Development Order, which reduces the debt instead of paying cash. Ask us how this works alongside your stay. How SPER orders work
